Over the weekend we began our 24th semester course. We’ve got a big group, a new cooking pavilion, an expanded fleet of canoes (new 20′ Old Town XL Tripper) and a fresh coat of spar varnish on the paddles. There’s been talk of purchasing a giant neon sign in order for Moose Vegas (our student village) to regain its former glory and become “Fabulous Moose Vegas” once again. The river is high, the weather is cooling off and it’s a great time to be living outdoors in northern Maine.
