The field school is quiet, the parking lot is empty, the course is completed. Our 54th long-term, professional training program wrapped up on Friday. As has always been the case, I spend the first day or two at the end of a course wondering what to do with myself. I’m writing this on a Sunday morning, and from when we wrapped up on Friday until now, I’ve been doing busywork, puttering around. My current state of idleness won’t last, as there are seedlings to get in the ground, a field to mow, and a bunch of other things that need attention. Our summer term starts in a week, and it will be go, go, go for a while. But for now, another cup of coffee and reflecting on the last 9 weeks.
