JMB Vlog 4-20-18 | WBS Day 5

Systems are what make camp run smoothly. When running a course off-grid there often aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done. As a result we’ve developed systems that use minimal time for maximum results. Nowhere is this more important than with food. Convenience foods aren’t an option in camp. If you wait until the last minute, you will often go hungry as there are no microwaves and no microwavable burritos for miles. If you plan ahead, though, you can get your needs met with minimal time investment.

As is shown in the video, in the morning I heat up one big kettle of water, and from it I make a thermos of coffee, a thermos of hot water, and a small thermos of oats for breakfast. These stay hot until I’m ready for them. It’s easy and efficient, and frees my time up for other things.

Typos, Etc.
Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
