Snow at the field school in late April.

Highlights:
Since April 20 and until June 21 we’re busy with the spring Wilderness Bushcraft Semester. It’s been a great course so far, but not without it’s weather-imposed challenges. When we started the snowpack on our road was waist deep! But things have warmed up and the buds are popping out.

We put two walls on the pavilion to block the wind, and soon will have the cookstove set up under it as well. We’re planning on adding another cabin for the fall semester, and have been hard at work experimenting with low-tech solar hot water systems. Life keeps getting more cushy at the field school, which is our ultimate goal; live well, not hard, with minimal infrastructure!

Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
