This summer we’ll be bringing back our canoe expedition, but with a slightly different approach. Now that we have a line up of other short canoe and outdoor living skill programs running during the summer, we wanted to make a long term, college-accredited program available to the younger generation. So starting this summer, we’ll be offering high school age students the opportunity to come out on the trail with us, learn a lot about the ins and outs of canoe guiding, expedition planning, and all the skills that build a competent outdoor leader. This program is also approved through our partnership with the University Of Maine At Presque Isle, so high schoolers can use it to get a leg up on college through the “early college” program offered by the university. This is an exciting thing for us to be able to offer high school students. If you’re a young person interested in learning about outdoor leadership, canoe guiding, or just want to get a few early credits while spending time outdoors before heading to college, this is the trip for you.
