It’s been a fantastic summer and we had a lot of fun running a wide variety of programs. Yes northern Maine has had a lot of rain. But it led to people perfecting their wet-weather fire skills, and allowed me to run a bunch of whitewater that can usually only be run in early May. So since the last program ended a week ago, I’ve been busy with a paddle and pole on nearby waters, including St. Croix Stream, the Big Machais River and Squapan Stream. I’ve also been scouting for moose with a friend, and enjoying some quiet time watching wildlife near the field school.
But my week of introspection is coming to a close as I’m headed back to the modern world tomorrow.
As I get back to the world of running water, plug-in electricity and internet access, look for me to return to blogging regularly.
