The dates are set for our March, 2019 trip with Cree hunters in northern Quebec; March 1-9. In past years we’ve gone in late January, but next year we’ve got a busy winter semester planned so we’re moving the trip to early March. Taking advantage of the longer days will be an added bonus.
Those of you who have been on our programs have heard me talk about these trips. It’s simply an amazing and unique experience to spend time in the bush with our Cree friends and to witness a traditional hunting culture first hand.
Activities include setting fishing nets under the lake ice, setting snares for snowshoe hares, learning about the plants and their uses, hearing legends and stories, eating bush meats (including moose, fish, snowshoe hare, lynx, beaver, etc.), eating Anna’s fantastic doughnuts, laying a proper bough floor in a tent, and much more.
2019 will mark 20 years of trips with David and Anna. It’s an amazing and unique experience.
