December 2013 News

Highlights: After a busy season at the field school, returning home to the folk school is wonderful experience. Being surrounded by modern conveniences, electricity; I revel in it for a few days, then, like most modern people, I start to take it for granted. When something is everywhere, is it even possible to appreciate it? Can a fish appreciate water?

This month we attended the Snow Walker’s Rendezvous in Vermont. It’s a great event held each November. I gave a talk on nature as wallpaper, now available as a JMB podcast episode. Also it took a week, but we moved our website to a new host. Certainly not the glamourous end of the bushcraft business, but a necessary one in the modern world. The beauty of having a website is that it gives us someplace to post our newly finished 2014 calendar. Lots of familiar programs and a few new ones. Check it out: JMBS Calendar.

Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
