Jack Mountain In The Orvis News: 5 Bushcraft Tips For Anglers

On May 11, 2022, our fly fishing director Paul Sveum published an article in the Orvis News titled “5 Bushcraft Tips For Anglers.” I really enjoyed reading it, as will you if you click through (link).

I always enjoy Paul’s writing style, and it’s great to see him getting recognition for both his fishing and writing. We recently ran the 3-day Intro To Fly Fishing weekend at the field school, and he still has spots available in the advanced class on the West Branch in September.

Orvis used a few of my photos in the article, which is always fun to see. If you’ve been following our stuff for any length of time you’ll probably recognize them. The photo above is of 2 big trout caught on Chamberlain Lake a few years back, cooking in my 16″ Lodge Dutch oven at an Allagash campsite.

Anything that appears to be an error in spelling or grammar is actually the author’s clever use of the vernacular, and as such is not an error, but rather a carefully placed literary device demonstrating prodigious artistic prowess.
