We’ve been discussing the possibility of having a small 3-day rendezvous based around bushcraft and traditional wilderness skills at the field school since 2010. But despite a lot of talk, we’ve never hosted the event. A few weeks ago I was talking with some friends about it again, and after an hour discussing the possibilities, it seemed like a good idea.
Is this something you’d be interested in? It would be a great opportunity for Jack Mountain alumni to come back to field school, plan trips, dust off some skills, meet new people, etc.
So is anyone interested?

Absolutely!
Would this be open to the general public or only to alumni? I know it’s a busy time of year for you, but we’d love to have you and any of your students students as out guests at the Puckerbrush Primitive gathering in Columbia, July 19-21.
All the best,
Larry Balchen
Hi Larry, I’ve wanted to make it down to the Puckerbrush Primitive Gathering for years, but always have a conflict with dates. On a recent course we had a student who had been to the gathering and had rave reviews. It sounds like an amazing event! This thing would be open to the public.
