The Brushfire Rendezvous is on the calendar for Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13. I don’t have any details yet, but will be working them out. After talking to a few friends, we figured that 100,000 people was too many, so we’ll probably limit it to 40 or so.
We’ll be running an introduction to canoe poling class during the rendezvous, because the week following we’re running a poling and outdoor leadership master class on the St. Croix river (downeast, not our local St. Croix in Masardis). This will be for experienced guides who want to up their game. We’re talking about having other guides run other trips as well that week. More on that later. We’re planning it like this so it isn’t just sitting around and car camping; we celebrate life on the trail by going out on the trail.
An advantage to early October is there will be few, if any, bugs. It will also be cool enough at night to warrant bringing hot tents.
We’ll be working on nailing down the details of the rendezvous in the coming weeks. When we get them set they’ll be posted on the Brushfire Rendezvous page.

Cool! Eat bacon
I think it’s a safe assumption that some bacon will be consumed over the three days. Maybe a lot of bacon.
