We completed the Earth Skills Summer Program, and it was a great success. We covered a lot of material, had a lot of fun, and only had to endure one knife cut which took place the first day. Like all extended courses, there were low points, like the bow that broke during floor tillering and our fly-fishing trip in the White Mountains where I caught the only fish (a beautiful 9-inch rainbow trout). But the balance was overwhelmingly positive. The fish in Rust Pond have let out a collective sigh of relief that Jordan from Nova Scotia has gone home. He was a tenacious fisherman and caught a bunch of big smallmouth bass on his fly rod.
But things are quieting down now, and I’ve got a few days to get ready for the Summer Survival Weekend Course.
