Back From The Allagash

We made it back from the Allagash trip, finishing the spring Bushcraft Canoe Expedition Semester.  Overall the trip was fantastic, but it didn’t look that way at the beginning.  The first two days the black flies were terrible, but then it cooled off and they weren’t bad for this time of year.  The fishing was fantastic – lots of native brook trout in the 12″-16″ range.  I’ve got lots of photos to share from the trip, and will be posting them now that I’ve got some time at the field school.  Overall it was a great month on the river.

This week we’re doing some upkeep around the field school to get ready for the upcoming weeklong courses.  Next week is the Woodsman course, followed by the Bushman and the Riverman.  It’s been cool and rainy here, but the sun should come out next week.
