Hot coffee and doughnuts are a great combination, even better when made outside over an open fire. When I was a teenager, two of my friends made up a little song about this amazing combination after getting some of both early one morning at a diner on the way to go ice fishing. All I remember of it is the chorus, where they would sing, “Hot coffee and doughnuts, hot coffee and doughnuts…”
