We’re welcoming a new instructor to our team for the Boreal Snowshoe Expedition. Blake Towsley has a lot experience with living out in winter. Among other things, he has worked with us in the past on summer and winter programs, completed numerous extended snowshoe treks, spent several weeks with David Bosum in Quebec, taught with Karamat Wilderness Ways , taught with Kelly Harleton on programs for the Canadian Rangers, and was recognized as a survival and wilderness living skills instructor by the late Mors Kochanski. He is a veteran of the Canadian army and is currently the proprietor of Full Tang Outfitters, a custom gear company. Blake grew up in Smooth Rock Falls, Ontario, and is as practical as he is passionate about living well in remote places. We’re excited to have him on the BSE because he brings a lot of experience, knowledge and fun to the experience.
The photo above was taken in the Guide Shack a few years ago during a long, heated discussion about the various properties of knives.
