JMB Vlog 224 | Tying Canoes Onto The Trailer

When people think of wilderness canoeing they think of the excitement of exploration, interacting with the land on a meaningful level, and adventuring beyond the realm of day to day life. They don’t think about something as mundane as tying canoes safely onto a trailer or vehicle to transport them. But this is a foundational skill with regard to tying knots. Lots of people learn a new knot, figure they’ve got it, and move on. For our students, learning to securely tie canoes onto a trailer requires attention to detail and nuance. The first time we load up canoes to head out is often an eye-opening and time consuming endeavor.
